Toolkit on social entrepreneurship

On 11th of May 2022, Instytut Badan i Innowacji w Edukacji, from Poland piloted the activities developed within the Erasmus + Partnership Entrepreneurial Mindset. Participants learned about the toolkit on social entrepreneurship and the main steps for starting a social enterprise. The event was attended by young people, learners, youth workers and trainers willing to improve their skills and increase knowledge on social entrepreneurship.

Luis Ochoa Siguencia, Instytut Badań i Innowacji w Edukacji (INBIE), delivered the workshop and tested the toolkit on social entrepreneurship with activity participants. The purpose of this event was to evaluate and validate the content of the toolkit, collect feedback and suggestions from target groups after the pilot test session, and analyze test results to improve and fine-tune the toolkit. The toolkit on social entrepreneurship was developed by the EnMind project partners: Co-Labolatory from Italy, Instytut Badan i Innowacji w Edukacji from Poland, Istanbul Valiligi from Turkey, Team4Excellence Association from Romania, and is being piloted in all partner countries.

The pilot test began between 9:00 and 11:30 in two sessions of 45 minutes each. In the first session, youth workers and young people eager to start their own businesses began to analyze the content, with special interest given to content, techniques and methodologies.

Participants discussed three topics::

  • Business Model
  • Introduce Your Idea / Model
  • Launch the Social Enterprise Plan.

Each topic contains educational materials, including practical tasks, exercises, case studies, and assessments.

During the second session, the participants worked in pairs and implemented the workshop Pitch your Start-up. The aim of this workshop was to provide a deeper understanding of the Pitch method in start-ups and new businesses. During the workshop, the facilitator used group activity, reflection, and brainstorming to engage and involve students. Presenting a good idea or project is the step or gap between idea generation and action.

The bottom line is that a good presentation can be crucial to your business. Moreover, youth workers participants in the event gained new ways of communication with youth and routes to integrate disadvantaged young people.
