Exploring Creativity, April 2024, Romania
Last week, from April 2nd to April 5th, high school students engaged in a series of workshops aimed at combating creative blocks and recognizing that everyone possesses creativity in their own unique way, not only in their professional lives but also in their personal lives.
The workshops were designed to help students discover more about themselves and unleash their creative potential through interactive activities. One of the activities involved personality tests, which allowed students to gain insights into their own personalities and preferences. By understanding their strengths and tendencies, students were better equipped to harness their creativity in various aspects of their lives.
Another workshop introduced students to the Six Thinking Hats technique developed by Edward de Bono. This technique encourages individuals to approach problems from different perspectives represented by six imaginary hats: the white hat for facts and information, the red hat for emotions and intuition, the black hat for caution and critical thinking, the yellow hat for optimism and positivity, the green hat for creativity and new ideas, and the blue hat for organization and control. Through this exercise, students learned to explore a problem from various angles, stimulating their creativity and expanding their problem-solving skills.
Overall, the week of workshops was a resounding success, empowering students to embrace their creativity and approach challenges with confidence and open-mindedness. As they continue their academic journey and beyond, they carry with them the knowledge that creativity is not a trait reserved for a select few but a fundamental aspect of human nature waiting to be unleashed in each and every one of them.
