Summer language Coffee №4

Today , a captivating workshop was held in the Summer Language Coffee. The subject was about “Linguistic Expressions Across Different Languages,” the event aimed to explore the nuances of expressions, metaphors, unique to various languages and cultures. 

As usual, we began the workshop with a short presentation of ourselves. Then, each person answered one question about her personality such as hobbies, favorite colors and so on. Thanks to the answers, the conversation turned to movie/series preferences and types of music of everyone.

The highlight of the workshop was a dynamic and engaging game designed to immerse participants in the world of linguistic expressions. The game included only one rule : Discover the hidden meaning behind French, Romanian and Ukrainian expressions. So turn by turn, each person picked up a paper with a expression and they tried to guess the meaning.

The game ends with the tasting of a typical French dessert the “Floating islands”.

Overall, with innovative game, we emphasized that while languages ​​may differ in structure and sound, they all serve the common goal: fostering connection and sharing ideas.
