Promoting Blue Careers and Mentoring, Romania, September 2022

On the 30th of September, TEAM4Excellence organized the Multiplier event “Promoting Blue Career eMentoring Programme” to share the results of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership: Career Guidance in Blue Economy.  The day of the event was specially chosen on the day when, at the international level was celebrated the “World Maritime Day 2022” and “European Researchers’ Night” The event was held at the Maritime University of Constanta and it was attended by blue professionals, VET learners and VET teachers from over 10 educational institutions in the county interested in training in the maritime field.

The first session was dedicated to presentations, when the project manager presented the scope and the objectives of the project to increase the visibility of Erasmus+ programme and EU funds received. Participants were guided to use the results and received materials promoting the online training course, mentoring programme and the career map. Partners from Romania – TEAM4Excellence, Spain – Sea Teach and Turkey – Osmaniye İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü developed within the project an online training course which is available on our platform in all languages (English, Romanian, Spanish and Turkish) and contains valuable information about the sectors of the Blue Economy. The Career Map centralizes 100 job cards in the Blue Economy and it was very useful for young participants who learned about new careers.

The second part of the event was dedicated to promoting the e-Mentoring programme for blue economy and the BeBlue job platform. On this occasion, the blue professionals mentored the participants and answered to questions about Blue careers. The participants were delighted with the experience, which broadened their horizons towards choosing a possible future profession in the field according to their inclinations. Afterwards, participants learned about the technologies used in the maritime field while visiting the university’s navigation simulators. Participants from technological and VET schools learned about the employment opportunities that the maritime career offers according to their skills.

Their feedback and the invitations to visit the VET schools confirmed that the event and the Erasmus+ project results are highly appreciated.
