Promoting AI Skills for Retail: INAIR Project Results Presented in Constanța

On April 3rd, 2025, Assoc Prof Dr Nicoleta Acomi, our Project Manager presented at stakeholder event organized by Constanta Maritime University the latest results of the INAIR – Increasing the Uptake of AI in Retail project. The event brought together 20 relevant stakeholders, including representatives from the retail sector, VET providers, universities, and local development organisations, to explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of retail for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The central focus was the Core Curriculum developed within the INAIR project which is public available and already gathered several visualizations. This structured educational programme addresses the growing AI skills gap in the European retail sector. Organised into 16 modular learning units across three proficiency levels (basic, intermediate, advanced), the curriculum supports educators, trainers, and businesses in upskilling and reskilling the retail workforce.

Participants discussed the structure, methodology, and ethical framework of the curriculum, as well as its customisable learning pathways, which make it adaptable to diverse learning needs. The curriculum’s emphasis on sustainability, ethical AI use, and hands-on learning makes it a valuable resource for integration into training programmes and curricula across Europe.

The event also provided space to set future steps for dissemination and integration. Stakeholders expressed high interest in the curriculum’s application within vocational training, continuing education, and workplace training.
