Blue Career Day 2021

On Friday, 26th of November 2021, the Maritime University of Constanta organized the 5th edition of the “Blue Career Day”, dedicated to pupils and students from Constanta. The event addresses the issue of young people’s access to the labour market in four maritime-related sectors in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea region: maritime transport, cruise tourism, marine aquaculture and the offshore oil and gas industry. Representatives of our NGO were present and proudly promoted blue careers.

The event gathered together over 150 participants, representatives of crew companies, port operators, authorities from professional associations, but also students of the Maritime University of Constanta on site, and many more online.

The interaction between employers and students was facilitated through a debate, in which we even gave a prize. First place was awarded to Emilia, a first year student at the Faculty of Navigation and Naval Transport, specializing in Transport Engineering and Management. The prize awarded by our association consisted of a pair of wireless headsets that they will surely use during her online courses.

The event was supported by MENTOR – Blue Career Center of Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea, POCU project “Learn from the best” – facilitates the labour market insertion of our graduates, Erasmus+ Career guidance in the Blue Economy, with help from partners: Romanian Intermodal Association (R.I.A.), Team4Excellence, Blue Career Centre.

Location: Maritime University of Constanta

Date: 26th of November 2021
