Art for Action: Constanța’s Civic Drawing Contest, Award Ceremony, May 2024, Romania

On May 23rd, TEAM4Excellence in collaboration with the Maritime University of Constanta hosted the final event for the “Art for Action: Constanța’s Civic Drawing Contest.”

Over 40 students from various schools in Constanta attended, enjoying an exhibition showcasing all the wonderful drawings submitted by the participants. At the end of the event, the contest winners were announced.

The contest aimed to create a local impact and enhance the digital citizenship skills of the younger generation, encouraging them to reflect on various societal challenges. Over the past few weeks, participants were invited to select one of the ten categories within the digital active citizenship domain and create an illustration reflecting their understanding of the chosen category. Students could participate individually or in groups. The drawings were submitted via Google Forms, collected, and reviewed by the organization.

A jury composed of volunteers from our ESC program selected one winner for each category before announcing the overall contest winner. The selection process was challenging, as the jury had to choose the artwork that best balanced adherence to the category with creativity, storytelling, and expressiveness.

The grand prize was awarded to Iuliana Evsei from Liceul Technologic Lazar Edeleanu in Năvodari, who competed in the “Access and Inclusion” category. Her artwork stood out for its powerful message and artistic execution.
