AI4YouW Kick-off Meeting

The first transnational meeting of the AI4YouW: Artificial Intelligence For Youth Work project, a new educational and skills development project, which took place on 27th March in Italy. It was attended by all partner organisations:

• Lascó – project coordinator (Italy)
• Team4Excellence Association (Romania)
• Contextos (Portugal)
• KEAN (Greece)

AI4YouW project focuses on equipping youth workers with the skills needed to navigate the evolving landscape of AI technologies. During the meeting partners discussed the project roadmap and workplan and the implementation of 5 work packages. WP 1 described the Project Management & Quality Assurance details. In WP 2 partners discussed the Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation steps. The WP 3 contains the AI Competence Framework for Youth Workers and provides clear guidance on the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed by youth workers to engage with AI effectively. The participants discussed the development of Digital Catalogue of AI Learning Experiences which provides interactive learning experiences that directly address the need for educational resources for youth practitioners and youth workers that are tailored to their needs. The AI Training Toolkit for Youth Workers in WP 5 includes a map of trustworthy AI tools for youth work, empowering youth workers to proactively engage with AI in their organizations, as well as a multi-lingual set of workshop plans they can implement with young people.

By increasing youth workers’ competencies and generating new knowledge to advance AI integration in youth work, the project is expected to indirectly support young people in becoming confident, critical, and responsible users of AI-driven digital technologies.
