TEAM4Excellence Promotes AI in Cargo Transport at “Captain on the Ship of the Future” Competition

On 11 April 2025, during the Open Doors Week at Constanța Maritime University, the event “Captain on the Ship of the Future” brought together over 50 participants from 6 VET providers. The competition, designed for high school and university students passionate about navigation, provided hands-on experience using advanced ship simulators and maritime charting.

As part of the event, TEAM4Excellence Association promoted the practical use of Artificial Intelligence in the maritime sector, particularly through the INAIR initiative focused on AI in cargo transport and logistics. Staff members showcased how AI technologies are reshaping the future of business and retail operations, offering real-world applications relevant to both maritime and commercial sectors.

Through interactive discussions and examples, participants explored how AI-driven systems can optimise routes, reduce costs, and improve decision-making — inspiring a new generation of tech-savvy maritime professionals.
