Volunteer in Constanta

6 international volunteers are participating in activities at Constanta from 1 March 2020 to 30 June 2020.

The topics addressed by our project are:

  • Citizenship
  • Tolerance for other cultures, nationalities or religions
  • Democratic participation
  • Skills development
  • Interest for civic and professional development

Project summary

Through local and individual actions, we put efforts to make the youth conscious about the impact of media. The results were not satisfactory in comparison with the efforts involved. We urgently need to take action before the community to be affected in an irreversible way. The problem of “low level of awareness on the impact of media” affects the personal development of each individual as well as the entire community. We are fully confident that the volunteering approach will increase motivation, interest and professional development of participants.

The project aims at having an open-mind community that value the ICT tools for responsible use of digital media, taking advantages of the European cooperation and with the support of volunteers’ activities.

With this in mind, we formulated three specific objectives:

  1. Developing the digital media skills of youth from Constanta.
  2. Increase the awareness of using mobile phones as youth educational instruments.
  3. Improve the skills and competencies of 6 volunteers to offer high-quality solidarity activities to young people.

Project Results

  • Develop youth digital skills (e.g. enhance content management, WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, Digital ebooks editing, Photo and Graphic design including infographics, Video production, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, non-formal education methods, etc.)
  • Create engagement of local stakeholders to support solidarity activities to improve the digital skills of youth.
  • Develop volunteers’ skills and competencies.

On the short term, the project aims to “enhance the engagement of volunteers and coordinating organization in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities”.
